So you win the Euromillions. You are rich beyond your wildest dreams.
You immediately hand in your notice and go on a rap star-esque rampage with boats, bling, guns, widescreen TVs and gyrating honeys - that sort of thing.

After a few months of this you will probably begin to tire and even get a little bit bored so you need a project, something to get your teeth into when you feel like it, but not something that ties you down like an actual job.

What business would you set up (or buy out), what would your level of input be and why?

I'll put my own ideas out there shortly but for now I'm just curious as to what sort of things people could actually see themselves doing.

I'm not sure if I would, I'd just enjoy life and help others to do so as well.

Any projects would be small scale things like buying and restoring cars, modifying cars, etc. Would probably pay someone incredibly experienced with working on cars to teach me the ropes as well.

This probably wouldn't happen to me! :p

Depends on how much I won. If it were loads then I could go all Dragon's Den and invest in small, local businesses. Or buy an estate and spend all my time riding a sit-on lawnmower. Or tearing it up on my quad-bike. Or run/own a campsite somewhere special. Who knows...loadsa things...

If I won £50mil next week though, I'd still stick out my job until February to collect my redundancy. ****ers.

(Actually, I wouldn't. I wouldn't even give them notice. I'd just not turn up, or give them so much as a telephone call.)

I would go round the world micro-chipping every cat until all cats are micro-chipped then sell the "cat finder" app which would tell you in real time how far away the nearest cat is so you could give it a little stroke and what not.

Then once i've made billions from that, i would release the dog finder app and so on.

Putting two and two together it would have to be drugs. Lots of drugs!

who cares, thread is just hypothetical fun

Fixed. ;)

I'd move to America and become a member of the American Atheists movement. I'd use my money to help further the cause and help fight religious creationists who are trying to subvert the constitution. I'd organise large events promoting the separation of church and state with all the worlds leading atheists invited to come and speak, of course I'd foot the bill. Most importantly though, I'd focus on helping American children get a proper science education at school. Teach them to evaluate evidence and think for themselves, and put a stop to efforts to teach intelligent design in schools.

So not much then, but enough to keep me busy. :D

I wouldn't bother with a business I'd just spend my time improving the local area, loads of neglected parks and stuff around here that could do with a bulldoze and redoing from scratch.

doubt the council would be against it if it cost them nothing
