Costume idea - Spiderman with a difference. Thoughts?

I am hosting a heroes and villians themed party next week and i have an idea.

I'll wear the spiderman suit under a shirt and trousers but rip it up a bit (and my clothes) so essentially i am Peter Parker but after a fight so i'll get some blood etc.

Think Clark Kent when he rips his shirt open to reveal his suit.

Thoughts? I think its a good idea and different from just wearing a suit.

Edit: I am crap at fancy dress so other ideas useful.

You could dress as a giant spider with your Peter Parker clothes on underneath, and never reveal who your character is. That way the mystique would be equal to the wonder in the film.

Also, if you're the shy and retiring type, consider just sending an actual spider in your place, but don't tell anyone. People will think you're at the party and then you can troll them with fake conversations about how great the night was next time you see them.
