hi i am going to build a parvum 1155 build 2700k my question is i want to keep it on air i am thinking of crossfiring 2 7970s in it they will fit with the boards i have decided on but they will obviously be close together has anyone else had success at this or is water the only option for crossfire/sli graphics cards as im wondering whether there will be a heat issue thanks

Hi Paul,

As with air and somewhat hotter AMD cards you will see pretty high temps but nothing dangerous. We did a build with 2 x 780's on a Gene and when testing at 2560 res for a hours bench marking they did start to get very hot.

We are in the process of releasing a bottom panel you can purchase separately that will allow you to fit 1 or 2 120mm fans into the base of the case to exhaust heat. This should really help your air cooling dilemma. If you email [email protected] we can get one of these sent to you sooner than we can get them up and listed on the OCUK website.

My dual 680's ran quite hot when not under water but like the rep has said, if you wait for a lower panel to be released you won't have this issue as it will allow fresh airflow from the bottom to cool the gpu's. Personally though I'd stick 3 x 240 rads in there, 1 in the top, 1 at the front and 1 at the bottom lol :p

oooh, i like the sound of the bottom panel. can never have too much cooling.

I know right!!

I mentioned it a while ago to them, but not sure I can claim the idea though :p

I've got a R9 290 in my S2 and I must say, the side window gets seriously toasty. I put my hand on it the other day and was surprised it'd not melted.

A bottom fan on the base would be ideal and would really help temps. I'm an however planning on watercooling :D

id love to go watercooling but my computer is tucked away nicely at the moment and not on view so watercooling wouldnt receive the full benefit.

here is where mine is now located, it gets a little toasty, nothing unmanageable though.

a fan or 2 on the bottom would deffo not be a bad thing.

ive actually even though about just taking the window side off for some increased airflow

I've got my case on a bit of a shelf with gap directly under the case in the middle, so I'm hoping this will improve temps.

I've got a sick plan for a custom loop but no funds :( :( :(

feel your pain,

i think a monitor upgrade will be next on my list. id like 1440p but not sure how my single 780ti would cope with it.
