Phone them directly or post on OcUk (and in GD of all places)...hmm, I wonder where you will get more help :p

Don't get me wrong, OcUK posters have a wealth of knowledge, but I think in this case a quick phone call would have been much quicker :)

We phoned them and said we didn't want a licence, eventually got the code thingy and they still kept asking for money.

I really wish they would call when I'm at home, I've had several hand signed letters from the TVL sales team, and I would love to troll them on video, but alas they only seen to call when at work :(
 
Cancelled mine today as we're now on demand only. Spoke to them over the phone and they were polite but did inform me that an inspector may call. We've got nothing to hide but I won't be inviting them in.

There's really not much point in having any interaction with them at all, as they are known touuse underhand tactics to essentially frame people.. unless you just want to have some fun with them.

YES! I finally found some one who does exactly the same as me. I haven't had a license for 3 years now.

For any company to take you to court, they have to have a joinder with you.
Since they don't have one, they create one on your doorstep. It is simple contract law.
They ask all your details, and get you to sign the paper, which creates a contract.
On that piece of paper is your details and your signature saying that you agree to be punished for any thing they decide.
They use that in court, and because it is lawfully binding (by your own inactions) they can punish you for absolutely nothing, because YOU AGREED TO IT on your own accord.
This, believe it or not, is the exact same process the police use for things like driving offences and any other victimless crime.
 
No live TV? How do you watch sports? F1, LeMans, Tennis, MotoGP, Golf, Football/Olympics/World Cup?

Don't watch the news then? If not, I can't see those reading news websites but a lot here love trivial celebrity gossip…
