Can anyone suggest some ideas for a 21st birthday?

I was looking to go away somewhere with mates, roughly 8-10 of us but think I may have left it late as it will be in late August.

So far I've thought of Newquay - surfing or Prague/Amsterdam but i'm up for doing anything really.

Preferably <£200 per person for 2-3 nights.

Effectively want to have a few beers with mates but do something fun during the days as well.

Hire a wooden lodge/cabin somewhere with some scenery, grab some mountain bikes and go tearing up the countryside for a weekend. Terrorize the local women (not literally) in the local village/town. Have manly BBQs, campfires, fireworks etc.

Be merry!

Or, hop on a cheap flight to some generic euro-city and enjoy.

Mine is in a month and I'm not doing anything, I'm not bothered about it at all. I will be going to Berlin later in the year so I may count that as it. As for the day, probably go to either Bristol or Cardiff.

Any place you would recommend?

Drugs and hookers.

Any person/area you would recommend? :p

Been to both Bristol and Cardiff for other mates birthdays and they were awesome! I'm guessing you've been to both before due to your location?

For my 21st me and my mates went to Prague, it was awesome, and dirt cheap as well. Although I believe it's a bit more expensive now, than it was when we went (I'm now 31)

Amsterdam. But it'd be hard to find something like that for <£200 pp.

Otherwise I'd say Newquay. Surfing is great. Maybe even Bournemouth?

I'm going to a stag-do in a few weeks in Bournemouth. We paid £190 for Hotel from Friday-Sunday, Access to casino on Friday night. Zorbing, clay pigeon shooting and some Blind race car thing Saturday afternoon. Then we get to check out Bournemouth "finest" at it's "top" strip club.

Nowhere I can specifically recommended but the ski resorts in Scotland, The Lakes, Peak District, Forest of Dean, Snowdonia all have decent mountain biking trails - with a bit of googling you can probably find a suitable lodge to stay in close to a bit of civilization.

Bit of a late response but 9 of us went ahead and booked Newquay for the August bank holiday.....cheers for the suggestions I'll bare them in mind for my 22nd!

Personally I wouldn't do Newquay. Went there for a stag do a couple of months ago and it's just full of stag parties and next to no woman.

I would do an all-dayer in London and stay the night. Lots of drinks and there's a few pound in the pot gentleman's clubs if people want to go.

You can do Amsterdam for that budget.

Heading there for a stag weekend on August bank holiday. 3 day trip, ferry overnight from Newcastle, 1 night in a reasonable hotel in Amsterdam then ferry overnight back for £140 (including on-board accommodation).

Newquay isn't a bad shout either though for that budget. We rented a big house by the beach for a week and that only cost about £140 per person as well.

Went to Amsterdam with a few mates for my 21st earlier this year. All in it cost around £350-400 but was an amazing weekend! Highly recommend it!
