Faulty 290 refunded. What to get?

You have the Vapor X in crossfire? How are your temps and whats the spacing like between them on your MB?

I want to Xfire mine down the road, but looking at my slot spacing they would almost be touching. So debating returning it for something else but only other card I like is the 780 Classy.

The other things that's got me debating it is the dang static buzz I get randomly in my speakers.
Also if I have it set so my monitor goes to sleep, when waking it up the screen just stays black. Will also stay black when I start my comp up for the first time in the morning.
Happens when I type my password in to log in windows, will just stay black and have to hit the reset switch.

So I don't know if those things are from faulty card or what. All in all I been very confused on what to do lol. As I'm sure some will know from my other posts.

Can't comment on your screen isuses, not sure if that'd be card or something else.

Spacing between my vapor's is not too bad:

Temps around idle vary depending on how hot my office gets, when the suns heated it up a bit they idle at 46 on card 1 and roughly 39 card 2. I swapped the cars around as I found card 1 runs warmer so he sits on top.

In-game the highest I've yet reached is just over 80 although I'm still in early days yet, but impressed with the vapor's cooling ability thus far!

personaly i dont save 30-50 bucks, to get worst quality.

Recommended minimum

1080P - 2Gb
1600P - 3Gb
4K - 4Gb

Of course you can easily make do with lower/higher depending on settings used. :)

Oh yeah you got great spacing! So it looks like I will be out of luck on xfire with these.... Anyone have any recommendations on what I should return it for?

I love the look and feel of these Vapors, so it wil be hard finding another GPU to replace it. I know the Tri-x OC is decent but not a fan of the looks and love cards with a back plate :D

Decisions... decisions....
 
Starting to get lines flickering across my screen randomly now. Once when I woke my comp up there were lines all over my screen then it crashed, and today starting the comp up I saw it on the windows login screen.

So I definitely need to send it back. :( Just need to decide which direction I should go.

Sold my SLI 770s to try my luck with AMD again. Once again first GPU is having issues. One of the reason I went with Nvidia and got the 770s was from all the issues I was having with my AMD cards prior to that.

So either I am very unlucky with AMD or they really do have way more issues than Nvidia.

So should I get a 780 6gb, 780 3gb, or try my luck and grab another 290 or 290x?
 
As I said earlier go for the Sapphire 290 Vapor-x, they are the best 290 you can buy, but if your having bad luck with AMD and want to go Nvidia then either get the 780 or a 780ti if you can stretch to it
 
I really loved the looks of the Vapor X. Though I just don't want to chance it so got my refund issued for it.

My past 6 AMD cards gave me issues, my two GTX 770s were flawless out of the box. So I guess I'm going with the 780 since the 780ti is a bit expensive.
