24: Live Another Day

saw the most recent episode earlier tonight, im happy with the faster pacing but i can understand why others might not be, perhaps 18 episodes would have made more sense

Chloe has to be the worst character on TV, both in scripting and portrayal. The emo thing doesn't hold at all (she's like mid-forties?) and she just sneers at everything - as usual.

I quite liked her when she was first introduced in season 3?, but in this season i'd have to agree with you. Also she looks like a grumpy panda.

I thought the 12 Episodes kept the tension/action going quite well, where as 24 episodes would have dragged it out too much!...

Was great to see an old school friend of mine get a knife in the ear whilst taking a piddle in a Pub Bog!!! :D
Though I like how Jack got from London Eastend to Southampton Docks in about 15 minutes!!! :D

Didn't Keifer say once that 24 could go on without Jack Bower as the main Character??? Anyone think that the bird from Chuck could take over as the Main in a future series!?!

maybe to rescue Jack, only for it to go all Audry on her again???
She's nearly as 'Damaged' as Jack, what with her Husband being Set up etc...

Looking forward to any future series, if they make them!...

Personally i'd be fine with it moving on without him but if you look at quotes from the people that make it it doesn't sound as though that's likely. Here's one from an article yesterday for example:

“I think what would draw us back, if that were ever to happen, and that’s definitely up in the air, would be; we or somebody presents an interesting take on Jack’s character and where he is, which would suggest a great season.”

Last few episodes were great. Really nice quick pace and plenty of good action.

So many talking points.

Good things:
- Jack going on a rampage again, ending with a beheading.
- US President acted very well. I actually felt a bit sad when he said was explaining how he wouldn't remember having a daughter.
- Jack being a stone cold badass when turning himself over to the Russians.

Bad things:
- Chloe being rescued.
- Chloe using laptop in the rain - is that even possible?
- Kate's god damn amateur hour with Audrey. The hiding in the bushes and then the leisurely stroll after the sniper was dead.

Is there any talk already for a new season? I'd definitely watch. I'd hate for them to move away from Bauer (which they obviously won't given how this season ended), but how much more can actually happen to him?!

AAAAAAaaaa

another series without a happy ending, if the show doesn't get renewed and that is the last we ever see of Jack i'll be irritated! i was hoping for a full pardon and a family reunion

Urgh I hate touches like "field work isn't an exact science no way you could have known there was a second shooter" when the playbook for that exact textbook scenario is to anticipate a backup shooter.

Little things like that really spoilt this series for me.

Yep, it was a cheap setup to hurt us more thinking she was okay, Jack as a character deserved to get home with Audrey, or at some point in his life.

Not so bothered if Audrey lived or died or what Jack does or doesn't deserve it just doesn't match that someone of Kate Morgan's supposed background/experience wouldn't have anticipated a second shooter in that scenario. Things like that I just can't suspend my disbelief and get past.

That said I hope we see more of her (Yvonne) in 24 as well as a little more attention to detail as they have the makings of a serious reboot there.

For many, many reasons I'd call this the worst series of 24 I've seen. Chloe has to be the worst character on TV, both in scripting and portrayal. The emo thing doesn't hold at all (she's like mid-forties?) and she just sneers at everything - as usual.
the many faces of chloe.

Knew dem Russians would get him.

Like how placid he is about being taken away to get tortured...again!

I have a feeling that there was 2 endings filmed. The one that we saw and one where Jack pinged a grenade or vest to stop him getting captured and tortured again. The setup with basically telling Chloe to look in on his family etc and the Russian telling him he isn't going to like Moscow was there. I personally think if it had flopped they would have used the latter ending the series there with Jack making the ultimate sacrifice not being captured again. But I think they have maybe had good feedback over this series and have funding for the next.

Yea it was the weakest part of what was actually a good ending, well paced but that part even before it was why havnt they bundled her into a car to get her to saftey instead of strolling around the park where she was held at gun point.

Bound to see more of Yvonne, shes on her own, perhaps a story she looks for Jack?
Found it a touching moment though when the President talked about how he would forget how that day and his family completely. A strangely very powerful point about how his illness will take over him.

Makes sense, I think they could get another short season out of it easily enough, going in Russia this time, so have a globe hopping Jack.

Never mind Jack....bring back Tony Almeida for my money!!!! :D

He's about the only high profile character left alive after all this time!
