New Gaming Rig - £1600+ Advice Needed

YOUR BASKET
1 x Cooler Master Cosmos II Ultra Tower Case - Black £299.99
Total : £314.99 (includes shipping : £12.50).

To be honest, neither of these two cases ticks my boxes but if I would want a case with a big side panel door, I would at least want the door to open the right way, i.e. towards the wall (although guess it all depends on how you locate your PC but in most pictures from users here, the back is towards the wall). With the Cosmo the door opens towards yourself which I personally find is just wrong, need about twice as much space at the side of the PC to be able to work comfortably with it unless unplugging it all and moving the PC each time and then having a full size panel door is a mot point.

As an enthusiast wouldn't you want to show of your PC bit more, especially if you paying £1500+ for it all, I know I would (and for the first time I will once my Corsair 750D case arrives, hopefully today. lol )

Regarding the specs, both of them looks great so which ever one you pick there you will have one hell of a good PC for years to come! :)

But as been said already, case is a personal choice really, we just giving you our opinions, in the end it is you that will be looking at it for years to come.

The Cosmos 2 isn't great, NO window, lack of watercooling support and £300.. £300 is a lot for a case. Considering the 900D is around that price too, it has MUCH better features than the cosmos.

The reason it's got good airflow and 'things' is because its a size of a shed.

As Ethel said, I think you are much better off with a more upto date case, the 760T is a great choice.

I just have a cool master at the minute and the case stays cold all of the time with it all being metal and it looks quite nice. From watching reviews on the 760T it seemed to wobble when the guy moved it as it's got very plastic and flexible features, I'm just worried it won't last! I'm also worried about how hot it will get compared to a cool master full metallic one as my office is in quite a small room with a boiler in it.

If you are planning on going 4k would it not be best to get a 6GB 780 rather than a 3GB ti?

100% no, 4K doesn't use extra VRAM.

The 760T opens the right way doesn't it? :)

The 750D is a good case but the 760T just looks that little bit more special. :)

If its cooling you want the Corsair 540 Air is also a good choice :) and also has a nice big window with the ugly psu hidden away, with both the Corsair 760T and the 750D I would want to braid the PSU cables ASAP as they are viewable from the window.

I don't really like the look of the 760T at the front, it kind of looks like an old school PC, the case I've got currently is the one below. I like the design of the front and the metalic look, I don't want to buy a case and like the look of my older one more D: . I do like the window door though.. the Corsair 540 Air is a bit too wide for my work station.

This case will be going to my girlfriend along with the components when I build my new one. It looks really nice but its old and doesen't even have things like dust catchers.

What do you think about this, Primo Luxe.

It's a little bit boxey.. I still like the look of my cool master (above) more so than this one, which I don't want to happen.

If money didn't matter which case would be best?

I would always go EVGA, brilliant cards and you pay for the quality and also the customer service.

I have an EVGA 780Ti SC W/ ACX myself with 3 GB of VRAM, I didn't wait for the 6GB version which I know I should have.

Put it this way, you want to go SLI so why not set yourself up for a longer future proof graphics card and buy the 6GB version, yes at the moment not many games will be using more than 3GB VRAM but you don't know what's round the corner with games and also it's always best to buy once and buy right. (Although the buy right part is what you think is right.)

4K isn't a standard at the moment and better cards will come to support 4K better, but if I could jump on the 4K bandwagon now I would.

Hope it helps.

I will try and remember to spec you a awesome rig when I get home.

That would be awesome thanks :)

How about this case?

YOUR BASKET
1 x Lian Li PC-A79 Full Tower Case - Black £299.99

It looks nice and I don't mind spending a lot on the case because as stated I want to be using it for my next few builds in the future and not just this one so I want it to be high quality and future proof. I saw this on an overclockers post somewhere about a guy who said get me the best of everything so it must be good! :D

I still like the look of this one too D: . In fact I think I like the look of this one the most. But it doesen't look like it has as good features as the Lian Li.

I don't really like the look of the 900D after watching a few reviews :( .

Edit:

Ahhhh this looks nice too! I can't decide :O

I just want to say, spending a lot doesn't mean its futureproof atall.

The Cosmos II is a good example of that. If you want a CPU + GPU water loop in 3 years, you'll need a new case, the sub £100 540 air will easily handle that..

If you're after quality and innovation look at the silverstone range. The FT02 (and upcoming FT05) are firm favourites,

This would be my Silverstone shortlist:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Silverstone Fortress FT02 USB3.0 Windowed Case - Black (SST-FT02B-W USB 3.0) £185.99
1 x Silverstone Fortress FT04B-W Black Large Tower Case £159.95
1 x Silverstone Raven 1 Full Tower USB3.0 Windowed Case - Black (SST-RV01B-W USB3.0) £149.99
1 x Silverstone Raven 2 Evo Midi Tower Case - Black (SST-RV02B-EW USB 3.0) £135.95
Total : £664.93 (includes shipping : £27.55).

But I don't understand what it has that the three I previously linked don't? All of their reviews are good, why would they not support a water loop?
