It's upgrade time.
I currently have a Nexus 5 which I use for the phone bits etc, and 'had' an iPod Touch for music which recently met with an accident...

So, which of the current handsets has the best music playback and also good camera and app?
Not struck with the Nexus 5 for music next to my (ex) iPod.

I'm hedging towards a 5s based on the fact it should have as good a sound as the iPod did, but I can only stretch to 16Gb version.

Alternatives are the obvious - LG G3, Galaxy S5 and Xperia Z1, some or all have expandable storage.

My initial thought was to wait for the 6, but then I a) thought what will it really give that is better, and b) from what I am reading it could well be quite a costly handset.
The small size put me off initially and the bigger 6 seemed ideal but having used the iPod for the past few months I fell it is actually quite a nice size.

Would an iPhone still be my best choice anyway?

I remember the SQ on the Note 3 being very good. 32GB onboard +sd slot.

Camera is decent and the screen is an absolute stunner.

It'll likely be the same price as the 5s is now, that's usually how it goes. The 6 will be significantly better in every department, as well as having a much larger screen (4.7" instead of 4"). If you prefer the smaller size then you could get a 5s now, it's no slouch. There's a chance the 6 will have more base storage for the same price, but that's not guaranteed...

For audio quality the 5s is one of the best around, it's right up there, so you can't go wrong in that respect. I personally like iTunes and have no problem using it, but it's worth bearing in mind.

As for the camera, the 5s is considered by many to be the best, or at the very least one of the best. It provides great results in a wide variety of conditions. Phones like the Galaxy S5 are easily comparable though, it may fare slightly better/slightly worse depending on the lighting etc.

If you like iOS then I say go for it, but you can get comparable quality on other phones if you prefer Android - it's down to what you want.
