Another Tale of Korean Monitor Woe

The seller has repeatedly pushed a return and refund and said that they cannot offer a replacement. I have pushed to replace it with a similar monitor in their inventory - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171308041997 but they have said no to this. Sellers rating is 98.8%.
Its a pain as I fully intend to get another and I obviously don't want to pay import charges again - not that I think I'll import one from a non-UK seller again, so I'll likely have to pay a bit more anyway!
I have also pushed to invoke the warranty as others seem to have had replacement parts shipped to them by other sellers, but they have avoided this at all mentions.
Seller has just said that a pre-paid label is not an option.
I have zero trust in this seller, should I just bite the bullet pay for return shipping then hope that they honour the refund? I'll also have to find a box as I don't have the original any more :-(
I'm tempted just to ignore the seller now, post a very negative review and go through a paypal dispute to get my money back. I'm fed up of dealing with them!

Like I say it's not 100% clear so give them a call, it can be read for your situation but also if for example I sold something to somewhere outside of EU and it got sent back to me.

Open up an eBay case ASAP too mate, people normally respond quicker to those and of course its all recorded by ebay :)
Also look into the eBay Moneyback Guarantee scheme?

it's an unfortunate experience, while mine has been perfect a friend got one from a diff seller to you, it broke a week later but the guy was very helpful - shipped a replacement within 24 hours and arranged for a courier to collect the original.

lottery if you get decent support, but lets face it it's a lottery with allot of companies - give me Korean customer support over asus anyday of the week!

I agree you need to open up a Paypal dispute, although they may insist the item has to be returned to the seller. The seller may also insist the original packaging is returned although I don't know how enforceable that is.

I also don't want to suggest this but do you have the option of a charge-back from your credit/debit card issuer, if a Paypal dispute doesn't return your money?

I know this might be considered morally wrong (i.e. you did knowingly buy the monitor) but also remember this has been a tactic used on eBay disputes.

Trust enabled - will have a look at Member's Market shortly. :-)
From your experience though and the problem I've described does a faulty display PCB look likely?
Thanks again though, the help I've had from members of this forum has been staggering (in a very good way). I'm very very grateful.

Can you PM me with a what sort of amount you would be looking for?
I'll make a decision then as I'm not 100% sure this is the faulty part, so I don't want to lay out a significant amount of cash and still have to return the monitor itself.
Sure we'll figure out some way of transferring funds though ;-)

Sorry, no talks about about trading outside MM.
Please check your trust.

OK - ultimatum sent!
Hi,
Over the weekend I have confirmed that the following part is faulty -
http://www.ipsledmonitors.com/QNIX-X-star-PCB-Replacement-p/qnipcb1.htm
I have talked to other QNIX users who have had this issue as it is a fairly common one. All other sellers have shipped them a replacement PCB.
I am happy with the monitor, only this part is faulty. I have tested all other parts including the Power Supply and all are fine.
Please ship this PCB to me, I will fit (I am a qualified IT professional) and I will give you positive feedback.
I will also consider the matter closed.
The monitor has a warranty, so I ask that you honour it by doing the above.
Shipping the monitor back for a refund is undesirable to me as I will lose £50 in import charges, you will also lose £80 in return shipping charges which I had quoted as a return cost over the weekend. If you push me to return the monitor I will open a paypal dispute and reclaim my money that way, give you negative feedback and highlight my experience on many international IT enthusiast sites.
Sending me the replacement PCB will be a gesture of goodwill on your part considering the amount of time I have wasted trying to resolve my problem. And, as mentioned will allow me give you positive feedback.
I hope we can come to a solution which we are both happy with.
Thanks in advance.
Jony27 - if this doesn't pan out well I'll be in touch regarding that replacement PCB.
Cheers.
