Best computer speakers around £100-150

You won't get impeccable sound quality for that budget :P

Edifiers do a decent job for £50 if you can buy them when they are on offer

Bose would like to think so :D

Or more to the point Bose have succeeded in getting most people to think so. They are absolute geniuses when it comes to marketing. Strictly speaking if you like the Bose sound and you are prepared to pay for it then there is nothing up with them regardless of what anybody else might say . They did a good job with the companion 5's for PC but your looking at 150.00 second hand .

Regardless of this, OCUK do a very good range of dacs etc if budget is a consideration and there are plenty of alternatives that you might wish to consider and others will wish to recommend concerning equipment.

2nd hand amp and a pair of passives like cookeh mentioned. That will be the best value for money.

I always liked the look and sound of the Harmon kardon soundsticks. I've got mk ii's still going strong after 5 years. Only niggle is the glue on the satellites has come unstuck but then my anklebiter has been belting the bejaysus out of them. Apparently silicone based sealent should fix.

I'd go:

Eltax Monitor III Speakers - Less than £50

Second hand AMP

This 1 million times

my eltax monitor III are still running 12 years later although the rubber is getting a bit old on the right hand one i will be regrettably upgrading

Cracking pair of speakers beautiful bass from them too probably too much base if you have grumpy neighbours

Bose Companion 3 can be had for a little more. I find them to be very good, great build quality and I've had them about 5 years.
