How are you dealing with the summer heat?

I work in a kitchen where the ambient temperature exceeds 50c. It's nice to get out of there into the 30c coolness tbh ;)

A friend of mine's currently on the Maersk Kampala in the Red Sea. Engine room temperatures are around 50 degrees Celsius, whilst it's averaging in the high 20's in the accommodation block, and that's with both air conditioning plants running at full chat.

I merely think of him, whilst sat in the garden with a nice cold Heineken and within range of the wi-fi in the house, and laugh.

Is a ceiling fan worth it? I've been looking at one for my bedroom but doesn't seem to be a majority vote on if they're good or not.

Had one in a lot of the hostels i stayed in last year and they make a massive difference. Not really worth it in the UK though I don't think.

Poorly. I spent a fair bit of the day in the computer labs at uni because they're climate controlled. Back at home now and I am so sticky. This is awful.

There's one air conditioned room where I work and one which is always heated.

Needless to say this is where I spend my cold winters and warm summers pretending to fix things
