Farnborough Airshow 2014

Seems there are a few people here that live in Farnborough...

Is it still as shockingly poor a town as it used to be? I went to uni there 1997 - 2000 and it was the most depressing town I had been to! lol

Does anyone know if Belly Busters in North Camp is still there? used to frequent that after nights out in the student bar!! lol

Not in but not far. :)

It's going through a major revamp at the moment, personally I've never had any problem with the town per se. It's infinitely better than Camberley that's for sure.

Belly Busters is indeed still there. Can't say the same for the Tumbledown though. That's just about to be turned into a Maccy's drive through...

snip..

Blows my mind at how precise the flying was to achieve that.

slightly different perspective (zoomed in 4x, 2x or even 0x would have been better in hindsight)

I live right by Southend on Sea airport.

There is a Vulcan parked there. I drive past it twice a day. If you want photos, let me know :)

i managed to get a pic of it flying in my post above, and my flat mate was there.. he said he spent most of the day looking at it as thats all he really wanted to see there, i havnt seen his pics yet but he said he took loads of it, cheers anyway though :)

I went on the Sunday and had a great time. Very impressed with the Reds as usual and loved seeing the Vulcan, hopefully it can keep flying! Nice to see the harrier back and also surprised by the agility of the lynx.

However highlight of the show for me was getting to meet Tim Peake, the first British astronaut. Really nice guy!

True, Camberley was rubbish, although the metal night at the Agincourt on a Saturday was always good! :)

Good to hear that Belly Busters is still going was out favourite late night food venue (I don't remember there being anything else actually...lol)

That's such a shame re the Tumbledown, it was a fine pub and great for live music. Used to be good friends with people that ran the bar and sorted the live music nights.
