We have 2 pairs of breeding black birds. They return every year and are reasonably tame.

The female just flew into our kitchen window and died :( 2 blackbirds sitting on the back fence waiting for her to move! :(

This is why all my windows have curtains or net curtains

shock seems to just make them play dead, my cat caught a bird once and we assumed it was dead but the cat was just in a catatonic rage

Not nice im only living where i am for 2 years but already i know 3 of the local birds! :)

A mating pair or something with white wings which is really odd both have the same pattern and a little solo robin who is always here year round. He will be here tomorrow too hoovering along the wall picking off snails and spiders and its july which i thought was odd.

I once witnessed two bird fly into a window within 10 seconds of each other. It was one of the weirdest and most disturbing moments of my life. Sad news OP :(

sure its dead and not mega stunned? I guess it would be alive by now.

Thrice and twenty more and you got a nice pie in the making

I have 3 bird-shape white ghosts on my bedroom window, all within a couple of weeks! No sign of any dead birds. Must have flown away with an almighty headache :P

They make an almighty THUMP when they hit the window though, the big ones anyway. :p

I remember watching TV and one hit my bedroom window, and it scared the living poop out of me lol.

How do you know it's the same birds each year? Maybe it's each couple's children coming back to make sweet love in the same place as their parents. But now of course you have ended that tradition. You have ended their family.
