So me and the other half have been together for 7 years and 3 days and I think it's time to 'put a ring on it' as Beyonce would say...

Now this is my first (and hopefully only) proposal so I literally have no idea where to begin in terms of the ring and the whole 'propose' thing.

So I'm looking at you guys for your personal experiences and ideas as I'm useless at these kinds of things.

I'm thinking Paris for the proposal (yea yea, I know) as she has always wanted to go there and it's meant to be the most romantic place on Earth.

Ring wise, I need to enable stealth mode and find out what ring size she is and to try and find out what kind of ring she'll like without making it obvious that I'm looking...

Help me OcUK, you're my only hope :p

40x your yearly salary on an octahedral carbon allotrope with a certificate to prove it or you aint nothing.

Before you go any further you should cheat on her with her best friend, or even better, with her sister if she has one. Then let her find out and see how she reacts. If she forgives you, she's marriage material. If she physically assaults you and leaves you, then you were flogging a dead horse from day one my friend, so no loss.

*Diclaimer* Not all advice I give is valid and sound.

Do you know if this is what she wants?

Last thing we want is a "So I got turned down" thread in a few weeks time.

I have and it's a tight fit...

I was thinking more along the lines of grabbing the ring and taken it to a jewelers...

Of course. The man signs his cards to me with 'Dad' so I know he ain't gonna say no :D

Should have mentioned in the OP. Just say you don't know where it is (hide it in some socks or in your shoe or something), women are forgetful so she wont think anything of it.

For starters don't get a ring, All she will care about is the proposal after that She will want to pick the ring.

You propose then you take her to pick a ring then you get your wallet out,JD.
