Hello guys thinking changing fans about in case. Atm I using corsair carbide 540 case with two gentle typhoon 1850 in front plus h80i all blowing in. No side fan, and one apache black 140mm on back and top.

I have spare another two apache 140mm blacks so was thinking replacing the loud stock h80i fans with gentle typhoons and installing this back onto the back the case "intake"

Put the two spare apache blacks into front and also at top.

Think this would be better configuration? Anyone using gentle typhoon 1850 with h80i?

Not sure how you're controlling the CPU fans at the minute, but would it be a problem with the Gentle Typhoons being 3-pin and not 4-pin PWM?

Other than that I'd imagine the GTs should work well on the H80 which I believe has a high FPI and so needs high static pressure.

I use my motherboard :) Asus fan expert can control 3pin fans. Am just not sure if the h80i will control them.

I use a couple of 1850s on my H100i and I'm very happy with them in comparison to the Apaches I had. Use Bitfenix Spectre Pro fans elsewhere. Indeed Shanks, I believe Matt has a similar setup :)

Yeah they do work changed about today. So far working very good about same temps as stock fans but so much less noise.

Thing is though my GPU top card as about 5+c more now. I don't think having two 140mm on front is good enough. 3x 120mm will cover more.

But you shouldn't need such high static pressure for the front. Maybe Silverstone Penetrators would be good for directing air over gpus?

High static seem to be the better option for this case.

The air fans are having hard time getting air through the dust filter and front panel it would seem.
Then to blow enough air down in between the GPUs.

The Gentle Typhoons did a superb job, just I wanted less noise on the h80i.
So now am going to install 3x corsair sp on front that was I can control the speed better and see front there.

Went and bought two 120mm new Noctua Fans for the front. Apache suck when it comes to bringing in air from dust filters and mesh, then the air is lost right away.

Surely sucking is a good thing for intake fans :)

I've got 3 Akasa Vipers on the front of mine running at lower than Apache speeds and don't seem to have an issue.

Those Noctua fans do look nice, much better than the default colours, but that price!

Yeah 41 quid, very high priced but hopefully worth it. Best fans made there supposed to be.
I think the apache blacks are best for out take.

i use 2x GT1850's with my Antec 620, I keep them at around 1300rpm else they get a bit loud but perform decently :)
