What have you killed so far this summer?

The thing with those is they're such acrobatic fliers! Got nailed by one two weeks ago, had a few nettle stings coming back to the car through a field and it was only when driving off did I feel a sharper sting than the rest of them..

Little blighter had been munching on my calf for a good minute, tried to swat him and he lazily took off, flew under my hand, through the steering wheel and straight out the window!

Leg came up a beaut over the next few days before going away, it itched like crazy!

It will be so much worse when the eggs hatch. Have you started experiencing any unusual cravings yet?

I'd agree with the duck in this case :D.

Me too!

It did change my perspective about living things somewhat.

I'm so glad it didn't die, if it had we would have cooked the bugger (for we were starving at the time) and I would have become known as 'The duck killing extraordinaire', carving my way through feathers and bills for the rest of my life.

We've all done dumb things as kids but I'm glad you felt different afterwards. It's the people that don't that get on my **** :(.

I'm sad enough to feel a bit guilty about stepping on slugs and snails :D. They never did anything to me and I just crushed one feel sorry for the poor sods.

Aye, me too. It's not sad. It's happy. I feel much better when I move a creature from certain doom to odds on survival, than I do killing 100's of moths etc on a long road trip at night.

Never hit a deer, but once at night when I had a nightmare trucker behind me (and I drive pretty sharpish) a badger found its snout under the nearside tyre :(

The truck finished him off. Poor sod.

Such total pussys, killing little harmless insects because you're scared of them! Haha!

We've had to put fly papers up this year as it was getting unhygienic with fly's getting into the food waste box and laying eggs, leaving a nice maggoty mess! That's about the only acceptable reason IMO. Other than bee/wasp nests near doors or windows etc.

I forgot to say many insects driving around in Portugal. On some days the hits had to be washed off the front of the car.

I found an earwig in the house the other day, brought a spider in from the garden. No earwigs since.

You handled a spider, and willingly let it in your house? You sir are a braver man than I.

I have taken much pleasure killing house flys with one of those tennis racket style zapper machines, the burning fly carcas emits an aroma of both success and torture, it's utter bliss.

Had a toad come into the house the other night. Frightened the living daylights out of me as I almost stepped on him, and then saw something jump in front of me. He was a right little rascal to capture, kept jumping under the sofa. Eventually I got him into a corner and flattened him...

No i'm kidding, i'm not that cruel. Got him into a bowl, and put him back out in the garden.

Just so that we're all on the same page here:

Dragon Fly:

Crane Fly / Daddy Long Legs:

I doubt OP had a Dragon Fly in their room.

For every bug I've killed, must have given life to 50maggots. Bin collection every two weeks is silly. Just walk along the street with rotting smell wafting from everyone's property.

Igot a fly zapper, the Uv type ones, gave up it didn't kill one of the **** they just aren't attracted to it.
