Hey guys,

I am about to purchase a 290 PCS+ for my brother and he will be using a 600w OCZ PSU that I ran my 290 on for a while.

But looking at the specs on overclockers, apparently the PCS+ requires a 750w minimum, while most other 290's require 600w.

Is this a typo? Why would it require a whole 150w more?

They are all the same ~300 Watt card, A good 600 Watt is enough, or a bad 750 Watt PSU.

Not all PSU's are equal, some will say 750 Watts but actually only put out 550 Watts on the 12v Rail while better ones rated at 600 Watts will give you 600 Watts on the 12v Rail.

Powercolor are being more conservative than others.

The PCS+ is the better card of the two, better cooling, higher quality build.

Nice one mate, will go ahead and order.

Might even do a cheeky swap with my MSI once it arrives. (he doesn't know much about PC's and doesn't know what model I'm ordering) :D

Only for the 290 PCS+ being a three slot cooler it would have been a tough choice for me between the Vapor-x 290 and it. The Vapor is nice though. :)

The Vapor-X is such a nice card, but a real shame its £60 more than the PCS+.
