Genuine question - what exactly did we arm his opponents with? I can only come up with political arguing about whether we should arm them or not and just random 'support' being provided rather than actual arms. They all seem to be running around with AK47's and RPG's rather than nice shiny British kit.
The trouble with the internet is how quickly hearsay becomes 'fact', then it gets into youtube videos and it becomes 'policy'.

Yep, it's obvious now that a despotic approach in ruling a country is necessary to keep the extremists at bay. Obviously I don't support such measures but when the Middle East is such a secular country, where both branches of Islam are happy to murder each other just because they have a different take on the 'prophet'.

Hopefully what befell Al-Qaeda in Iraq in 2010 will befall ISIS, they overstep the mark with the Sunni tribes in the region, and are pretty much killed to man by them.
