Found a clock on the beach

This is a shot in the dark, but OCUK never fails on this stuff. I found what seems to be a ship's clock of some type on a beach in the Orkney islands. Does anyone know where I could go about getting it identified or find out more about it?
The clock was found on a beach at Scapa flow.
