Could not agree more....

Out of all the tanks I own it's my most played. Wait until you get it elited!

Just got the crew on to their 5th skill, oh... And managed to get myself one of those nice little stars on the gun :D

What stars?

I've just got the T29 too. Labouring a little to get the top gun, but really like having a heavy as I usually play Hellcat/T49, Cruiser III for seal-clubbing, or PzIV/Sherman M4 for derp fun.

"Marks of Excellence"

5 Skills! That's a lot of XP and games played :D

I have got the T34, which has helped to train the crew.

1,180 games in the T29, plus an additional 1,141 in the T34.

I find it just such an enjoyable tank to play, its main strength is its turret, so if you can play it hull down you stand a very, very good chance. Unless the rest of the team is made up of BOTs or complete idiots ;)

Almost makes me want to rebuy it.

I hate the way a crew FORGETS all previous tanks. It would be great to be able to move my T110E5 crew back into the T29 that they drove in the past.

I just used free XP I'd built up to get the tracks and top gun, thankfully it'll mount to the standard turret so one less thing you have to research. However the Upgraded turret is good to have with the extended view range but also it gives a rate of fire boost for the gun too which isn't actually listed in the stats.

Ha! you have almost as many games in two tanks that I do for all tanks ;)
Like you say, once you get hull down it can stand against almost anything, on Sand River with some help I held off the enemy team who started in the west in an encounter battle getting to the hill, very rewarding when you're not top tier but can influence the battle.

I've always thought this to be wrong, has never made any sense to me. Especially if you "pay" to retrain a crew in a new tank then can't use them in the tank they've come from.

Even if they didn't gain anymore skill whilst having dropped back to a previous tank I wouldn't mind.

It is just WGs way of making us pay gold for a 100% crew member.

First off I want to preface my question with I don't play for stats but I do however look them over to see how my progress is going and if there's something obvious I'm doing wrong. i.e. they're a tool but not a goal :)

One thing I have noticed is that my efficiency rating is creeping down but my WN8 is going up.
My base capture and base defence have been going down and I guess I can attribute that to playing a lot of heavies and British TDs recently so not really the tanks for getting back fast to reset the cap and It's rare that I'm in games where we cap to win. My average damage and XP has been gradually going up as I progress in tier 7, unlock the bigger guns and generally play better.

This probably means the efficiency rating is weighted more towards cap/de-cap points and WN8 counts more on damage and XP right?

Also another question - do cap points count if you leave the cap circle or get shot?
e.g. I'm in the cap circle with 60 points, a team mate spots the last remaining enemy and I leave to help kill him, do I get 60 cap points attributed to me at the end of the game or do I lose them?

You lose them on both accounts as far as I'm aware.

Ok thanks, only the points you have "active" when the game ends are the ones you get then, makes sense.

Also to answer my own question, I've done a little reading and the efficiency rating gives a heavy weighting to cap/de-cap points so that explains why as I'm not doing much capping or decapping my efficiency is going down too.

I ****ing hate everyone in this game. I play my behind off and still it's defeat, defeat, defeat, defeat, victory, defeat, defeat, defeat, defeat, defeat, victory, defeat, defeat, defeat, defeat. I'm killing two or three every game and the rest are zerging, TKing, blocking - you name it.

I love the game, hate the players.

Feeling your pain. Had the same thing last night, it seemed every game I was being trolled, either ending up in a field full of tomatoes (either just plain bad players, or clearly bots) when I was either top part of the tier or I was bottom and the higher tiers weren't any better.

I ended up only playing a hand full of games before calling it a day. That said the previous day things couldn't have been better, good teams and in game cooperation.

As you say, great game, just some really bad players around and too many bots.

It's exactly this which has lead me to take a short break.

I really think it would do WG a lot of favours if they balanced out the teams more on skill. Yes there would still be the odd roflstomp, but not to the same degree it is currently with game after game of them.

Get a T18, 100% crew, pimp the tank and enjoy. It is impossible to take t2 games seriously. It really is the best way to relax after since rubbish games.

I hear you: I have a Cruiser III coming along for that purpose (361 battles, 61.77% victory-rate, 3.58 destruction rate).

I don't mind newbies, or people of lesser skill, but I do think they need to implement MUCH harsher penalties to those that cause more than one instance of team damage per game, those that end the game without having moved, those that end the game without having caused any damage to the enemy, and those that have a consistently low score across many games. These people only take away from the game, they do not add anything and they just annoy or rage-quit the players who spend time and real money on WoT.

I had a go at the British arty line last night to get the FV304, 20 games and 6 wins cheesed me off.
I was actually doing pretty well, a good number of games with up to 3 kills but every loss was a rout, the enemy teams only lost ~4 tanks and my team was obliterated.

Granted I'm talking tier 2-5 in this case so lots of inexperienced players, but I'd at least expect the games to be more even and teams be equally rubbish.

I've only been playing on and off for a year but to me it seems like one sided routs happen more often now, I'm not sure if it's me noticing it more now as I pay more attention to what's happening around me or if something has changed in the game.

FWIW "Efficiency" hasn't been used for ages now, it's a complete lame duck for assessing any sort of progress/skill. It used to favour cap whores which is why nobody uses it, folks would do little damage/spots/kills and just go cap first chance they got.

Actually the only players I find that ignore it I are the ones who have low efficiency. And it is based more on damage, not cap points.
