Sexiest dress down policy

Are you allowed to wear skirts and open shoes?

Are you sure you're not allowed to wear shorts? note, when I say shorts, I mean pleated/dress shorts and not sports/swim shorts.

Women can wear skirts and open shoes as part of the formal work dress code anyway? Its not an exception being given to them for dress down only?

I'm wearing shorts today and was quite worried initially that I'd get told off. There's a woman who works around like she's working the strip in Brazil (she is Brazilian) and doesn't get anything said to her. There's a chap who works partially in the office and partially in the warehouse who also wears shorts. I got a *******ing after my first couple of months here (after just having had an operation) for coming in in shorts and flip flops. The flip flops I can appreciate to be honest.

As yet, however, no one has had a *******ing :D we don't have aircon (go figure), so I don't think the manager can complain too much.

You MUST have beautifully waxed and tanned sexy legs, OP.

They have changed the rule in our office so men can wear smart shorts (tailored, dark denim etc)

Us girls can wear shorts too, but they have to be knee length/on the knee and no shorter...same with the skirts

Open toed shoes have always been fine iir

I asked why we can't wear shorts but they won't answer me. I asked if it was because my legs are disgusting? Its the hairy legs they are an abomination.

I'm pretty sure wearing a skirt isn't an exception written into the dress down policy specifically for women on dress down days. So its not like they have been 'given' that exception and you haven't been given one for shorts.

I think if people are not childish about it, and don't take the ***, most places allow flexibility.

Let's face it, they aren't required to give you a dress down day.

It doesn't matter whether its an exception or not, still sexist policy.

No its not?

Normal dress code: No shorts, women can wear skirts.

Dress down code: No shorts, women can wear skirts, everyone can be a bit more casual.

Specifically allowing men shorts would be sexist against the females in your office.

Plus, as Gilly said, nobody forces them to give you a dress down day so maybe find something more important to complain about?
