50 - 80k ish car options

Ha the GT3 looks awesome but we would never get asset finance on a car that old!

I will look into the panamera, the guys who own the unit across from ours have 1 of them as a "pool" car, now i know why!

Going to have to look at all the Porsche options for the price / age

Don't buy a red R8, no copying!

As for the GTR, the "new" one isn't due out for a few years, I guess 2016 but who knows.

More than likely will be a hybrid and have some crazy P1, 918, thetheferrari type performance.

Have you thought about the BMW i8? I know you are not "fans" of BMW but it is quite different to their other cars.

Good write up here vs a 911 http://www.9tro.com/features/new-cars/bmw-i8-vs-porsche-991-carrera-the-best-of-both-worlds

Woops forgot the budget!

The cayenne also have a new plug in Hybrid but it give off 79g CO2 so it has a higher company car tax.

Do you mind if I ask what sort of finance rates you can get on asset finance?

Interested to know more about this also as another option.

I am still waiting for my R8 to be built and Audi are trying to persuade me with finance deals offering a large "Centre deposit contribution" and 4.8% fixed interest.

It all sounds good but in the end I would be paying more but then I get to keep money in the bank and can just start again with another new car in 3 years.

I can see how people are tempted with these offers.

Well the situation with the asset finance is we have long standing relations with a a company who provides asset finance for all our capital equipment.. So they give us good deals on finance for a car as a benefit really.. I wouldn't know the exact rates until i get further down the process but they are always very good and better than normally available.

@ ^JP^ we must just both have good taste thats all i can imagine wanting a red one... What model have you gone for and who are you dealing with ? Do they have used ones as well ? What made you go for a new one ?

Well I test drove all the R8 offerings and decided on the V10 Coupe 6 speed manual, exact spec is somewhere in the Audi thread :p

I also looked at most others cars in the price range including up to used MP4 and LP560s.

Decided I really wanted mid engine manual and that then kind of limited things!

If you didn't know, I was driving a 2012 GTR with SVM 650R package which made 648bhp 611lbft at the OcUK Dyno day :D

So a bit of a step down in performance but everything else about the R8 is better in my opinion.

I didn't order a "Plus" because the sport suspension is hard, probably a bit harder that the GTR on Comfort mode but without any adjustability, I also didn't want Ceramic brakes.
Audi wouldn't build me a Plus with Magnetic ride and steel brakes so I had to spec up a "normal" V10.

I went new because I wanted it exactly how I wanted it and finding a 1-2 year old manual is bad enough without then looking at colours and options.

Dealing with Audi Norwich and all they have now is a brand new White V8 Coupe S-Tronic with no other R8s due in until mine arrives in September.

I know you said you're not mad on BMW's but consider the M5.

All round awesome, and prices very reasonable for one a year or even two years old.
