Hi All,

I have just recently put in a brick Braai (BBQ) and knowing how much you guys love project logs thought I would do one of this.

Components:
180 x rough Bricks
10 x Header Bricks
10 x bags of sand
2 x bags of cement
1 x paving stone
1 x Barbecue BBQ Grill & Pizza Bake Oven

Day 1 (Saturday)

First thing to do was to go get some bricks from Travis Perkins and the rest of the day was spent fooling around with said bricks.

Day 3 (Monday)

Two more trips to Travis Perkins to pick up more bricks and the Paving stone (table top) and allot more brick laying. Also, ofcause, more messing with the bricks!

That is great, good work.

One thing that I do want to ask though, why didn't you tie the bricks in together at the joint of the two sides at the back? I'm sure from a strength point of view it's fine but from an aesthetic point of view it means theres a line which my eye is drawn to and just looks wrong to me.

Yeah I wondered that.

That's what I was going to post.

Looks good though. The pizza bake oven section...what heats it? The coals on the tray above? Surely it needs a heat source from below?

Honestly we spent most of Saturday looking how best to lay them with them aligning correctly. This was the only possible way of laying them that we found would work neatly with the dimensions we were working on.

As for the oven, well its more of a warming draw than anything else. As we discovered when trying to grill some veg and potatoes in it this weekend. I will post some photos of it in use this evening.
