Do you believe in evolution ?

I don't expect that most of those denying evolution in this thread will watch this video because it conflicts with their opinion, but for those still undecided there's a lot of really good information presented by Dawkins who has spent his life working on the subject. Even for those who accept evolution, it's still well worth watching and I'm sure you'll learn something new on the subject.

in more than a crappy microscopic lifeform that might have just had random gene mutations.

Did it actually evolve to be better than it was or to become more specialised ?

Yes better.

MRSA is very good example of bacterial evolution, where a species has adapted to the introduction of antibiotics.

Evolution is a pre mid 20th century science. It's be proven and well understood for decades. The only reason people have such a hard time accepting it when compared to other science, is its apparent contradiction of religious dogma.

so why haven't humans adapted to the sun? or the cold or numerous other things.

and why is the plague that caused the black death still identical 700 years later?

A good example of important evolution is the ear of mammals, the three bones used in the ear were originally located in the jaw of our reptilian ancestors. During our evolution into mammals the bones became redundant and found a new use as the ear.

The migration of these bones to our ear is well documented with many transitional fossils recorded.

so do we have an appendix, tail bone, erector pili and body Hair, male nipples, wisdom teeth ? why didn't we evolve and lose them

To be more precise it's mid 19th century science as Darwin published his 'Origin Of Species' back in 1859. I think a lot of the religious people who dismiss evolution have never bothered to study it. Many of those who have actually accept it. Even the Catholic church has come out and said that they accept it, although they insist it has a divine guiding hand, which is a laughable, but at least they're heading in the right direction.

Erm. They are both theories. There is currently no "right" and "wrong" belief here.

One is based on observable data, the other on a book written many years ago.

Live and let live I say. If someone chooses to believe a story over observational reasoning, then that's up to them. Who is anyone to say they are wrong? Neither evolution nor creationism has been proved wrong, so either could be correct.

My personal belief is in science, and how it can be used to explain much of how the world works. But it doesn't yet explain everything, so I am open to other possibilities.

That's not to say I believe in the "Good Book". At all. In fact, I have no interest, at all, in a book written by men, thousands of years ago, that is, in essence, a collection of stories, which are used to justify some of the worst atrocities committed by mankind.

But neither do I believe that our current understanding of science can explain all existence.

Men have nipples because we start out as women in the womb, they are a leftover of our transition to becoming male.

appendix, tail bone, erector pili and body Hair, wisdom teeth?

I'm not believing a story over anything, evolution is plausible but I'm not convinced it's the correct answer in a few hundred years

We quite possibly are seeing adaptations in humans. But evolution takes many generations to bring noticeable and lasting change.

We see evolution occur in bacteria over a relatively short period because the lifecycle is much shorter. Less than a day in some cases.

We have adapted to the sun, our adaptation to the sun largely comes in the form of our brain being amazing enough to adapt and create on the fly. In hot climates we dig for water wear fewer clothes and create our own shade.

In cold climates we adapt with well insulated homes, thick clothing and central heating.

Animals without our amazing brains adapt in other ways, with thick fur coats in the cold (polar bear, penguins, snow leapord) and bare skin in the warmth (elephants, rhinos, hippos).
