Hi all,

I've got an issue with a Dell E207WFPc Monitor I purchased off eBay, I wanted a dual screen setup so I purchased a new Graphics Card that's all working ok, and when I plugged in the x2 Dell E207WFPc's one I had previously, one I bought off eBay seems the one I purchased has an issue.

The issue as far as I can see is that on parts of the screen there seems to be like black dots I can describe it as mini flies on the screen, they don't move just small and black, at first I thought it was dust but I've tried various wipes and that doesn't work.

I've managed to take some snaps of what it looks like please see and advise, thank you!

Before anyone mentions it, of course, it is out of warranty so I can't go throught that method.

Can I do anything if I actually open up the screen and wipe it or? I'm kinda clueless here.

It's strange, I've never opened up one before, I'll do it though. I'm thinking that the screen is a solid glass LCD monitor, is there a glass over it so I remove the glass clean the screen and hopefully it will go away.

haha wow yeah they do look like little flies, weird i've never seen that before

Seriously, some people on eBay, don't mention nothing of the sort in the description. Can't everyone just look after there stuff properly lol!

I hope I can get it cleaned off.

Btw, seen as I'll be opening it up anyway, whats the best method of cleaning? I got some window cleaner spray, damp microfibre cloth, or?

I removed the back and the front, and there are many small holes all over the place, I suppose that's where those small bugs crawled in, at the filthy guys house lol!

I put a hoover in those holes hoping it would suck them out, but it didn't work.

What can I do? Will a shop be able to clean this out for me? A small techie shop or PC World?

They are called Thrips and they are always around when the wheat is around. Doesn't matter to them if your house is immaculate or a mess, if you live near wheat, they are coming in :(
