Mad Max: Fury Road

Haven't got time to check the links...is this a sequel/remake/reboot?!?

Either way, i'm happy, Hardy is a superb actor and this is a no-brainer role for him.

Looks good, however...

I kinda get the feeling there is a love story vibe in there, which negates everything that made Max mad in the first place.

Yeah if it's based on the second (which is looks like) he has become a heartless monster after loosing everything dear to him in the first film. Still looks epic as far as action goes. :D

To me, thats a shame. Some of the new film is going to have to explain who Max is - some voice over at the start or random flashbacks when Max is in a bind and close to death.

I would have preferred a remake of the first.

Yeah, would have preferred a remake of the first, Then if that goes well a second. Maybe they felt the first film was just too clut? as it does come across a little crazy lol. Plenty for them to blow the budget on the second film in terms of things going boom.

Still

It looks cool :)

A real film with real stunts and shots from further back than 1 inch from the action that hold for longer than 0.1 seconds? Co-written and directed by George Miller himself and not some guy who has directed a single music video?

I might actually not be totally cynical about this.

It's meant to be a 're-imagining', yeah love that phrase too, so it could be a mash of all of the mad max movies.

From the trailers.. looks like lots of explosions and they've kept the 'post apocolyptic steam punk vibe' with the styling but it just looks too clean. The originals had a grit about the quality of the filming etc that this trailer just seems to be missing, it's too polished in my opinion.

Not sure I like Tom Hardy, he seems to be the 'flavour of the month' actor but he just doesn't seem 'mad max' enough, the hair doesn't help because I always think of mad max with the mullet...

Also got to question some of the choices for 'female characters'... rosie huntingdon whitely can't act and there seems to be a lot of 'pretty models' that are new to acting....

And based on imdb and the trailer there doesn't seem to be anything like tina turner or master blaster.

I'm still likely to watch it just out of curiosity if nothing else though
