Teaser trailer is here:

Liking the look of it although a couple of the special effects look like they need work.

Hopefully we get a good final film.

The full version of the last Hobbit had some very dodgy vfx. You could practically still see the green screen around Bilbo when he was "sliding" around the gold coins.

I have been so bored with these hobbit films. Love LOTR, and watched them quite a few times, particularly fellowship. But these just seem to drag. Started badly with that mind-numbingly long and dull party scene in the first, and never really picked up, for me, after that.

I'll watch this, but will probably wait until DVD release.

+1

too much CGI for my liking plus stupid added content like rabbit sleigh chases :/ what the hell was PJ thinking?. completely ruined these movies for me.

Same here, this trilogy is absolute poo. What is his obsession with chase sequences that go on for ages?

He has also messed with the source material too much. I guess I will be waiting a few decades for someone to do a "reboot" and do it properly.

It's extremely telling that the 2nd film did worse than the 1st. In other words, the 1st was poop. I couldn't even be bothered to watch the 2nd and I loved lord of the rings.

Not bothered watching any of the Hobbit films yet, keep starting to watch the first, watch the first hour then fall asleep. Feel as though the story has already been told for me in LOTR.

This, I love the LOTR films, but these have been utter rubbish. That trailer does look a little better then the first 2 though. The CGI still looks ropey at best.

I'm a complete sucker for these films. Didn't enjoy the previous two as much as Lord of the Rings, but I think that's much to do with the story rather than the presentation of the film itself. The scale of the new one looks great though.
