Ok, so I recently passed my 6 month probation at work. My manager asked me if we agreed a pay rise upon completion, we didn't. He then says he will try and get me a small rise for my hard work.

I've not heard anything back from him nor did I get any increase on my latest pay packet.

Would you chase it up with him or just assume he's tried and it wasn't possible?

Cheers

When you say recently, are we talking days/weeks/months?

If it's only been a couple of days, then I'd leave it a bit longer, as he will probably have hoops to jump through with HR/his manager.

If it's been a couple of weeks, then chase it up with him. You don't ask, you don't (usually) get ;)

Certainly mention it, be polite and emphasize anything you have done well recently, cite examples of good work.
good luck!

Don't let it slip, you could maybe ask to sit down with him to see where your job/options are now that you've completed the trail period. Ask about progression training etc
