Hi all i have the following Memory

16GB (4 x 4GB) PC-15000 (1866MHz) Enhanced Latency Quad Kit (PXQ316G1866ELQK)

◦Extreme Performance PC3-15000 (1866MHz)
◦Enhanced Latency (9-10-9-27)
◦Voltage: 1.5V
◦XMP 1.3 Ready
◦Equipped with an extruded aluminum shield to provide improved cooling
◦100% Tested and Verified
◦RoHS Compliant

Moving from AMD to Intel Z97 Platform.

Would it be worth the cost in upgrading this memory?

Depends on what you use the system for, heavy encoding (on Intel Haswell) would see a performance increase with 2400 over 1866.
memory prices are quite high so you could theoretically sell and upgrade at not much cost

mainly gaming.

i believe changing to 2x8gb stick will allow me to get a higher stable overclock so ill probably change the ram further down the line to some c9/10 2400mhz stuff

as far as I was aware the more memory only effected the memory side of things such as max memory speed when overclocking?

eg. you could run at 4.5GHz with both 2 and 4 dimms used however you might have to drop from 2400 to 2133 etc
