Hi
I am considering 2x gigabyte 780ti`s ghz editions but have read they need a lot of power from the 12 volt rail. I have a corsair hx1050 psu. Can someone please let me know if this would be enough. I game at 1080 60hz if this helps.

thanks

Ok after a bit of research it seems that the gigabyte ghz edition had a really bad batch and caused a lot of people a lot of problems. Can anyone recommend the best 780ti to get. I know it is major overkill but this is my last upgrade for personal reasons(going blind) and I want one last upgrade in the gpu department as I already use a 55 inch tv as my monitor :)

If you are not watercooling just get two ref 780ti's, i purchased two Gigabyte ref from release date never had a problem with them and at maximum overclock @1155,7350 (without voltage mod) the the system only pulls 680 watts.

I would like to know the best bang for buck 780ti too. Also would the op see much of a jump from xfire 7970`s

In Heaven 4 an overclocked 780ti can nearly match my wife's overclocked 7970 xfire (on air max oc without voltage mods) as its a Gpu benchmark i don't think the difference of Cpu makes much difference as the same 7970 xfire was in my i920 @4.4ghz and got the exact score in a 4930k @4.4ghz setup all in Heaven 4 again.

Obviously this would change in games but its a quick reference to your question.

At the extreme end taken from http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18487976

Score 2160, GPU 7970 xfire @1305/1855, CPU 3930k @5.0, Besty
Score 2102, GPU 780ti @1450/2080, CPU 3960X @5.47, newhit

So 2 in SLI should blow my 7970s away then. Have they got hd audio like the amd cards?

Is this one any good as i have found it for a excellent price.
EVGA NVIDIA GTX 780Ti SC 3GB DDR5 PCI-E Graphics Card with ACX Cooler

Yes very good card but like i said if you are not going to watercool them and only doing a moderate overclock you would be best getting reference 780ti so you are blowing the hot air out of the case instead of dumping in, plus save £120 to boot.

But if you are using 1080 and vsync in any games its capped at 60fps and no matter what 780ti sli you get it will be no quicker than your 7970 xfire any way.

Well it should handle 60fps easyier than the 7970`s surely and also he has issues with the audio cutting out on the 7970`s. The op has money burning a hole in his pocket and this will be his last gpu upgrade. He wants to treat himself one last time bud as he will be blind by this time next year:(
