When will they leave us alone? I won't lie. After extensive periods on games, playing at very high noise level occasionally after I might here something, or think I hear something similar to an in-game noise.

I bet if you take anyone who listens to repetitive noises at a high level, whether it be part of their job or not, will experience similar.

I suppose Concerned Mothers Inc are lining up to strip others of their entertainment because they can't be arsed to say "No" to their children.

After repeated exposure, even short term, I keep hearing the most annoying, inane pop songs in my head. I can't get them out. I'm a drummer and I often end up subconsciously drumming the songs out on the desk at work. It's driving my colleages so mad, they start threatening violence!!!!!!!!!

I came in like a WREEEEEEEEEEE-KING BAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After playing CSS for too long... "Fire in the hole"..."Fire in the hole"..."Fire in the hole"..."Fire in the hole"..."Fire in the hole"..."Fire in the hole"...

Don't play on 64 man servers before bedtime or that's all you'll hear all night :p

One time, after playing Borderlands coop with a mate for a number of hours, I went to drive home. Upon pulling away, a load of seagulls flew over the car, which I mistook for a flock of Rakk, and almost ended up crashing into a lamp post. Gaming is dangerous guys.

when I worked in morissons I swear I could hear the checkouts beeping when I got home
same with macdonalds and all the grill alarms

old news from my PoV

I researched this a little after I kept hearing Saria's Song from Ocarina of Time after some long late night sessions. It appears to be quite common and the effects can be visual aswell as auditory, and not just restricted to games.

My point. It should be an article about how exposure to loud repetitive noises can perhaps lead to the brain 'hearing' these noises at a later time. Which follows common sense to my mind.

Anything to try and start an argument against gamers.

If I go to bed straight after a gaming session, I can sometimes have some weird dreams.
Don't blame the games for it, just how the human mind works tbh

This.

After spending a fair few long weeks on a checkout at a store I worked in when I was 16, I sometimes couldn't sleep because my mind would still think it was working. The actions were so repetitive, I couldn't switch them off. So I think it's not restricted to noises or sounds.

Hmm, when I was playing a lot of L4D2 a while back I did keep thinking I heard a smoker. Glad I am apparently not alone :D.
