Hi guys,

I am currently part renovating my house and the lounge/dining kitchen is separated by a doorway/opening.

Its dimensions to brick are: 1505mm wide 1995mm height

There is currently no casing or architrave etc.

Basically all of my joiners that I have used in the passed or have been recommended have let me down and I am really struggling to get one round to price up the job and give me an idea of what work needs doing etc.

They are all telling me they won't be able to make it round for 3 weeks and I have now resorted to phoning random joiners in the yellow pages.

Before I do I have some styles of doors in mind that I would like. I wanted to know with the above dimensions what sort of casing would I need and what width and height doors can I get away with.

The style I like are the hardwood oak style doors that are glazed. Here is an example of the style of door I like: https://www.howdens.com/media/library/pdf/1102.pdf

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Transform.

Structural opening of 1505mm x 1995mm

15mm each side for packing and squaring + 19mm each side for frame = 68mm

= 1437mm wide and leaving 25mm for floor build up 1970mm

2 x 762 = 1524mm - 1437 = 87mm to lose I think it's to much to lose, I have those doors and they are solid core with oak veneer there's only a limited amount you can take off the lipping each side before you hit the core, I'd say 6 - 10mm each side only max, you could squeeze them in with a decent chippy but would be tight before you start running into problems.

Also those doors won't have a rebate for the doors to lap, you'll have to add one if that's what you want. I would.

Open the s/o or look for other doors
