Gamers hear voices long after playing...

Never hear anything. If I go to bed after a gaming session I do often see the game in my mind while trying to sleep. I also sidestepped a aircon vent today in case a cloaker jumped out of it. Too much payday2. In the past I have also subconciously put a building between me and what I thought was a BC2 drone (bird or something). I think your reflexes just sort of take over when you aren't paying attention. Does that mean driving games would make you a better driver?

It is probably an indication you are playing too much if this happens. But still it's better than watching Eastenders or whatever most people do. But you gotta have breaks ans maintain a social life.

I've never heard noises but I used to see little tanks when Command and Conquer: Red Alert first came out when I closed my eyes at night.

I can still hear Eric Idle in my head after hearing The Infinite Monkey Cage theme song again. Will that get demonised too?

Well, they are right about this after long hours of intensive game play, especially a FPS sort of game. I can still hear the sounds of war and everything, fades after few minutes to half a hour, though I still feel pretty edgy for a little bit.

Haha. I've had the reflex action of trying to Q spot birds as enemy uavs back when a group of us played BC2 all the time.

I spent a lot of time playing quake 3 (particularly 3wave capturestrike).

"3, 2, 1 CAPTURE THE FLAG!"

"THE ENEMY HAS YOUR FLAG!"

"YOUR TEAM HAS THE ENEMY FLAG!"

"HOLY ****!!"

"IMPRESSIVE!"

"ONE FRAG LEFT!"

"HUMILIATION!"

"DENIED!"

"YOU HAVE TAKEN THE LEAD!"

"YOU ARE TIED FOR THE LEAD!"

"YOU HAVE LOST THE LEAD!"

"QUAD DAMAGE!"

"FIGHT!"

"ONE MINUTE WARNING!"

"THREE FRAGS LEFT!"

"TWO FRAGS LEFT!"

"ONE FRAG LEFT!"

"PERFECT!"

Happy memories. I can still hear the sounds now :D

The only effect from a game I've played has had bullet time involved. i.e FEAR/Max Payne

After playing them for hours on end, when back in the real world I felt a bit weird.

Fallout 3 did this to me, I used to be able to hear the ambient sounds and the noise of trolleys and tin cans clattering across the floor after a lengthy session.

Fallout didn't do it for me - but I find sometimes if I turn music off or down I tend to carry the song on in my head, could be a sign of a good imagination, or tendencies to enjoy patterns?

Personally, if this happens doesn't it just prove that the game developers did a sterling job of immersing you in their world?

This is rubbish, it happens with anything. I spent a few days tiling and when I shut my eyes all I could see was wall tiles.

The worst is phantom Outlook email notifications in the bottom right corner of my screen at work. I keep thinking I've got an email out the corner of my eye.

Nonsense!
