Hi,

I've sadly and annoyingly cracked the screen on my HTC One (M7). I'm gutted. :(

Yes it should have been in a case, but I hate keeping a phone in a case and it just adds too much bulkiness (lesson learnt!)

So, I want to get it fixed. In the past, with iPhone's i've done the repairs myself. This phone however, seems to be a right PITA to do. You literally have to tear the entire phone down to do it, and a lot of the parts are prone to breaking.

I contacted HTC UK, and they wouldn't offer an estimate unless I paid a non-refundable £27 for an assesment. I then contacted PHones4U where I bought the phone. Again, they would need to send the phone away to be assessed before giving me even a ball park figure.

Has anyone sent their HTC One away for a screen repair before, if so how much was it?

Tried going to a independent phone repair place?

Unsure of cost as I havent needed a replacement, I know my brother in law had to pay £70 to have his Iphone 5s screen replaced.

Nope. My concern with that is they use naff parts and do a bodge job of it. I had experience of that with my old SE W800i, hence why I used to do my iPhones myself.

£90 by these guys http://www.htcrepairsuk.com/save-details.php?u=1&legacy_id=3679

Have a walk in store service and a registered address so presume they are legit, no online reviews from what I can see though

The lack of reviews is a worry for me... But I will consider them.

Has anyone else had their HTC screen replaced or done it themselves?

I have a cracked camera lens (which I fixed) and I found this guide while searching for solutions to my problem.

Hope you get it fixed one or another. Love my M7. :)

Watched the video last night and feel confident I could do the repair myself as I have done iPhones in the past, but this is a lot more tricky...

Where did you get the parts for yours? I've seen them on Amazon but there is a lack of reviews to say what the quality is like... Did you have to take yours apart completely? If so how was it?

I purchased a whole back body on the bay, I only needed the glass that covers the camera lens on the outercase, so I did not need to take mine to bits.

The body looked geniuine enough, but who knows? it matched the back of mine perfectly.... and it felt similar as well.

Good Luck!
