Acquired old phone

I've acquired a Samsung Galaxy Ace. It came with a 16GB micro SD too, score! Anyone know if it would be any good to use as an MP3 player abroad along with facebook messenger? Factory reset and tried to update but it says it cannot connect to the server.

The Ace was a pretty slow phone so it'd probably benefit from something like CM11 being installed on it!

Should be fine with wifi to use for those functions.

Can the Ace even have CM11? Considering the SoC runs on the ARMv6 ISA instead of the more common ARMv7

For MP3 it should be fine. For Facebook Messenger... If I remember correctly the Galaxy Ace's latest version is 2.3 Gingerbread. I know the app is compatible with 2.3 Gingerbread, but I have no idea if it's fine with an ARMv6 SoC instead of ARMv7.
