Hi,

Me and the wife are moving to the other side of the world, New Zealand to be more accurate and we are excited/nervous.

If any of you have adventures that you have always wanted to do just do them. Don't let anything hold you back.

We will be keeping a blog updated about our move and the Annapurna trek we will doing on the way there:

That is all.

Good Luck. :) Have you any jobs lined up or will you be doing anything that comes along until you decide on whether to stay?

No Jobs lined up, but my wife is a teacher and what I am looking at is on the skills shortage list so shouldn't be a problem. We have enough funds to cover until March next year.

Have you considered New Zealand? the currently have a special skills shortage list for trades due to the rebuild after the earthquakes.

I must admit I hadn't. To be honest my main aim is to leave the UK lol. Aus since holidaying there for 5 months a few years ago has held my love.

I will have to make an effort to visit new zealand before I make my final decision.

A very old friend of mine - His son married a New Zealander and after he retired from Navy at some silly young age he moved there - A few years ago he and his teenage son came back for short stay - his son just couldn't wait to get back - he said he couldn't stand all the congestion - the crowds and it's so small - They go out for a day on quads or bike or even boat - Both say they would never ever come back to UK - The life there is so much better - When he got there he took a part time job at a big DIY place - now he is in charge of all new builds for company - Seems rewards for working hard are better than here.

I hope you have the same good fortune as mates son and you will be happy.

Dave

Very jealous. I've tried to leave the UK many times but something always gets in the way!

Looking forward to reading all about your adventure :)

One of the reason I want to leave is overcrowding, you dont really realize it until you go to another country with less people. Feels like you have room to breath.

Thanks.
