im kind of shocked.
looks like fibre is available.

now this is quoting up to speeds of 36mb for pretty much what i am paying now.

this would be with talk talk

now on just standard sites my reg broadband is quoted as upto 17mb - i actually get 1-2 at best

would i be looking at a similar 10x drop for fibre? or as its a different beast will it be much nearer the mark?

Ah, I've had one of those boxes here for a year! It's had a sign on it saying fibre is here since March.

It's not.

They lied.
 
all services are the same give or take a mbit.

according to the website (talk talk) its all enabled and ready for my phone number?
 
they put one of these in my dad village out in Essex a year ago.

So dar theres still nothing connected to it! its just an empty box. they never dug anything up to put it in just laid a concrete base and put a box on it.

maybe that how it works - NOT
 
I have a large green box in my village, bt guy rolls up every now and then and fiddles with it. Another company subbing started laying fibre from the next village and stopped halfway and I have not seen them in 3 weeks so it looks highly unlikely I will be getting fibre in September.
 
just a thought!

if it is a Pigmy Embassy then we had better watch out as they are gradually colonising the UK!

at what point will they attack!
 
If only the people who run these forums had the foresight to dedicate an area to threads about networks, perhaps even internet connectivity as well.

does look lke the wrong section. I didnt even look in that section as its general hardware.
