WOW a big green box has just appeared in the village..

Good luck. All our cabinets were upgraded a couple of years ago but even though I'm a mile and a half from the exchange, it appears my copper goes straight to the exchange and not via a cabinet so I will never get fibre here.

I wouldn't touch Talk Talk ever again. Was with them for about 6 months a few years ago and the connection would drop every night without fail, sometimes for hours on end and they never resolved the issue up until when we left them and when the service did work it was horrendously slow and unusable at times!

Then there's the customer service which runs out after they've exhausted the "Switch the router off and on again" routine...

Be wary of fair usage policies when switching to fibre, a lot of providers have ones that make the service useless, I.E I am on ADSL2+ with 21Mbit connection at the moment and no download limit, BT offered me 36Mbit fibre with 100GB a month fair usage lmao.

Don't ring talk talk , anyone but talk talk. If you gave fibre available sky or BT should be able to provide you with it as well:)

AVOID TALK TALK!

Ah yes, go from one terrible company to another. Why on earth do people who no doubt rely on the internet in this day in age, get it from such terrible suppliers?

My vote would be with Zen Internet. They're quite honestly the best ISP in the UK.

That's just BT-Infinity 'Option 1' (40Gb with FUP)

I'm on the Unlimited 'Option 2' and I've never been warned about my (average per month) 300Gb+ usage!

55meg down and 18meg up - Infinity Option 2

*I work from home which uses a bucket load of Data!

I have a very fast/reliable service at home from Talktalk however that's because they bought out my old ISP Bulldog internet who were basically the best back in the day, I think TT forgot to move us onto the rubbish service lol.

Sadly for business users option 1 and 2 are both capped at 100GB a month, the only difference is the 36Mbit/66Mbit download speed, you can pay £5 a month extra for no limit but it's added expense on something that's already more expensive than ADSL2+ for little benefit.

They sprouted up a bit ago here, but only one has the "Fibre is here" sticker on it.

Still, this belongs in Networks & Internet Connectivity.

That's the cheapest package with BT but they also have a slightly more expensive one which is unlimited up to 38 and a higher one offering up to 76. I'm with sky on their up to 76MB package but even the lower package with sky is unlimited, they don't do a capped one.

I was with BE before and when I tried switching to BT they made a right mess of it, sold me a broadband package with a £75 Sainsbury's gift card as a promotion but because I didn't already have a BT phone line only that part of the package went through. So I was never going to receive internet until I signed up separately after having my phone switched to BT, this also meant that their offer changed to a £25 gift card and I was told there was nothing they could do.

Throughout all of this I was repeatedly told that everything including the broadband had been ordered, was told I'd get an expedited install and then they turned around and said it was only available to people with disabilities, told I would receive a credit on my account only for them to turn around and say the person that offered that wasn't even authorised to. In the end I switched to Sky and got free line rental for a year and a £75 credit on my account.

Our area is ready for fibre now but it seems to only apply to new orders for BT only. I can't get it with TalkTalk yet for some reason.
