My deathadder BE is dying. It double clicks when I click once. And the buttons are quite worn out.

I am looking at a Zowie, my best mouse ever was this white and red Microsoft Intellimouse but they are no longer made. These Zowies seem to be for people who liked the MS IME, but with better features.

But I can't decide which to buy?

I have big hands and a claw grip.

I use an OCUK XXL mat.

I want to ideally be able to use the side buttons to go back and forward on Firefox.

I hate Razr Drivers.

I much prefer optical to laser tracking.

Thoughts?

EC1 will probably be closer to the old IME and a smoother transition from the DA - but the FK1 seems to be a seriously good mouse from the little time I've had with one so far but its strongest suited to people who came from the old WMO style.

Zowies are driverless btw - you hold down a certain button while plugging them in to change the polling rate (and on the FK1 the sensor LOD for surface type) and thats it configuration wise except for the DPI button on the bottom.

i went from a DA 2013 to rival now using FK1 and its the perfect mouse tbhl... sod all the fancy shapes from the new ones just go back to wot u know best and i used to love the old mx300, and intellimouse 3.0 (i went thru about 6 of them playing TFC and q3) and this is shaped just like it

its got the best sensor on the market atm and has insane tracking.. i use it at 400DPI 6/11 windows with 1000hz and its flawless...

a lot of people i know went from EC1 to FK1 and says its better mouse also no drivers needed simple plug and play and its setup perfectly..

also if u do get fk1 also get QCK+ or heavy!

What is the finish of the plastic like on the zowie? Does it get grubby? Show sweat marks?

How does it "glide" compared to the DA 2013, smoother or not as smooth?

The finish has a slightly rubbery aspect to it will show sweat a bit but easily wiped off.

Gliding depends a lot on the setup you use - with a Zowie N-RF2 mouse mat and the camode I get very good free movement but with a enough texture to retain fine control but on some other mouse pads it isn't as good.

Ok thanks.

Don't mind it showing sweat marks too much (be nice if it sort of evaporated though, the same way that it does with the deathadder matte finish on the top [where the palm rests]), so long as it doesn't build up grub like glossy plastic...

I use a ocuk xxl mouse mat, the deathadder mice glide along super smooth.

EC1 is a great mouse got the same feel of the old DA before the 2013 edition.

little lift off flicker essentially an intelli mouse with a better covering and DPI adjust ability
