Time for PS4?

Good price, you should get it. A lot of PS4 games can be had second hand for under £30 now, and there are a load of games coming out over the next couple months (Diablo 3, Metro Redux, DriveClub, Lord of the Rings, Destiny, and a load more I can't remember right now)

If you're still on the fence, why not wait until October ish. There is a huge influx of new games starting late August through to mid November. If you like a lot of those, you can pick one up and hit the ground running with a load of new games - plus pick up the odd game since launch that's decent.
If I didn't already have one - I'd be looking at Destiny time to consider it, but if you're not too fussed on that then the rest start coming a month or so later.

I think I may wait a little longer in this case whilst I finish some games on the PS3!

I do? I'm not usually known for that
But just check out an up and coming games list and the last quarter 2014 is a very busy period. Depends what you like, but for me there seems to be a lot of potentially good games in a short space of time.
Mind you, there are also loads of cool looking TV series starting too, and I start my last 2 Open Uni modules (both 60 points) so I'm thinking my Winter is pretty much 100% booked up now! haha
