Hi guys.
I have a big request to you. I need ASAP, drivers & Tools CD for Asus Sabertooth Z87. I want to use this CD first, then update drivers from Asus support website.Could any of you guys make an .iso file and upload it to any file sharing websites?Dropbox, one drive, mega.co.nz .. any links will be much appreciated!!
Thank you in advance.

I can do it for you but the disc is 3.26gb so would take me a little while to upload. Probably around 4-6hrs but happy to do it if you want.

Don't bother. Just get the lan driver, chuck it on a usb stick ready.. Then after installing that update the rest online.

Driver cds are pointless

Well, the thing is that many motherboard manufactures can place special patches and execution code into their product driver installers. This code is executed on first install of drivers to the motherboard and is many times not included with updated drivers they post at their website support. Also, CD does install drivers in correct order and automatically restarts PC when needed. When it finish, I'll then go to Asus support website, download and install updates/upgrades.

Don't really see the point in installed the drivers from the cd if you are going to update them all with latest versions from the website afterwards.

Just get the latest drivers from the website and save yourself some time.

No idea what you mean by "special patches and execution code" in drivers. Have an example?

Brilliant!! Downloading right now. Man, I really don't know how to thank you. I've been trying to find this dvd for almost two weeks, and finally got it. I truly appreciate your time and effort.
Best Regards.

Few months ago, I red a very long article about Haswell CPU over clocking. This guy really knew what he was doing (writing). He pointed out, that It is very important to install drivers from the original CD or DVD that came with the motherboard BEFORE applying any driver updates or upgrades, especially chipset drivers. Sabertooth Z87 is my first mid-high end gaming motherboard. As soon as my new H100i arrive, I'll try to OC that i7 4770k. But before I do that, I want my OS to work tip top.

The drivers on the CD are no different to the ones on the website. Just you'll get the latest revisions if they've been updated since.

This is complete nonsense. Get them from the website.

As said before, I'd also like to confirm that is a load of nonsense.

I don't see how that will have any effect other than wasting time. When you update a driver you're replacing the whole driver. Your system does not magically take the good code from the old and new drivers and mix them into something better.

Gotta agree with Jokester, KIA and Asim18 here - sounds like nonsense to me also.

Would be very interested if you could find the article that mentions this for us to have a read of.

Hi, sorry but It was donkeys ago so I won't be able to find this article. But I did a quick research over few Windows support forums, and some users do use CD first and some just skip this and head straight to manufacturer website. One guy from Windows 7 forum wrote this:
"My own approach is different ...

I always install the drivers from the motherboard vendor (usually come on a CD) first. Why? Because you know these drivers will work and you'll get complete functionality of the built-ion hardware as a result."

Mine approach is exactly the same.

ok no problem - was just curious to read the article.

With regard to drivers - each to there own I guess. If installing the same drivers twice works for you then great. Personally I see it as a huge waste of time and have always downloaded the latest drivers and installed once.

The same applies to website drivers. You're being mislead.
