Does that setup not give you negative pressure? The 650D isn't a great case to have negative pressure with all the little holes all over it where dusty air can be sucked in.

The fans look good though. Was looking at them a while back as the red ring would match my PC nicely. Might get a pair when I buy a H100i at some point.

No the 200mm Megaflow is at the front as intake, the rest are all acting as exhaust. The H80 is in push>pull configuration. I do want to change this case though because I wanted the H110 and have learnt that if I install the H110 at the top then the section where the rad joins the pipes hits the plastic bit of the SATA dock and it will only install at an angle which is naff considering Corsair execs tooted it to be supported by older cases.

Get a 700D.

Is your case loud mrk?

I've got a silenced Fractal R4, 2x140mm R2 silenced fans at front for intake, 1x at back for exhaust, a 140mm Thermalright TrueSpirit heatsink, and a 3xWindforce 7970HD GPU.

Even at idle and with the insulation of the R4, it's a noisy bugger. The card is the main culprit, mind.

Do you have a psu that switches to fanless mode when your pc is idle? I found this made a massive difference to noise levels. Most PSUs have 2000-3000rpm fans, so even on their low speed setting they're still loud.

No, just the whooshing of air at normal running. When gaming the top fans ramp up to 100% (default 50%) exhaust the heat generated by the GFX card.

I want an Antec P182 again but more modern without the naff shaped vents of the newer P series :S

The P812 was such a nice case. Double layered thick aluminium side panels, noise absorbing plastic, sectioned off components...!

I have a HX 750w, no idea if it switches the fan off at idle but even under load it's not audible at all so I don't think this matters :p

My card at idle sits at 50% and is definitely the source of most of my noise. Only when I run my fans at 12v will it be drowned out. It just sounds like what you'd expect from high RPM from three small fans.

If I drop the load using software, I think it's my heatsink you can hear next. I'm just surprised is all as it's in a steel case with insulation.

I think my PSU is a TX750w Corsair. I have no idea if it goes fan-less. :p

The 650D is heavy and seems to absorb sound quite well although I have it sitting on a wooden plank to further reduce resonance and also to keep the base of the case off the floor as the PSU intake filter does collect dust.

Someone recommend me a case like the P182 but not the P183 which is ghastly! :p

Edit*
I did consider the 750D but it's rather massive for my needs!

I had a Tx750 before I replaced it with my seasonic x-series. If yours is the same model as mine was then it'll have a 3000rpm 140mm ADDA fan, which is pretty loud. I noticed a big difference in idle noise when switching to the seasonic as it is fanless, so totally silent at idle.

But like you say it's probably the gfx card making most of the noise. Once you silence one thing something else sounds louder.

Yes it's a bit of a beast. I have mine on a shelf in my PC desk off the floor for the same reasons as you. I only have an exhaust at the back, all other fan points are intakes with magnetic filters where needed. It keeps my case dust free virtually and I only check every 6 months when I see that the filters need a clean. I love my 650D and will use it in my next build.

Well since mrk posted that one of his Noiseblockers was DOA I just tested all of mine that arrived yesterday.

Opened and tested each one, all good and the sound they make is excellent, more air noise than motor or bearing. At low RPM they are perfect!

Will have some Scythe GTs on the MM in the future :)

New build is going to be fun!

And I got two bags of Haribo with mine which lasted 10 seconds :p

That's a lot of fans!

Just wish they were available with black blades as the white would look out of place in my PC :(. Supposed to be very good fans though and OcUK use them in their £10k 8 pack builds!

Parts for a new VM Lab. FX8350 - VM Lab power house!

My current VM Lab is powered by a 3570k but I've decided that it's just way too useful for a second gaming PC for the bedroom. So that's coming out and this is going in, along with a spare motherboard (Gigabyte 990FXA-UD5) that I have in the backroom inside a crate from mining earlier this year.

Also going to switch from ESXi to Hyper V, all of which should keep me busy for a while! :p

JP, are you building with a 900D or something?!

@mrk, yes, it is quite a beast but I have one right next to me and it is lovely. All that space!

I use a H110 setup with the same fans you do and I can tell you it is completely inaudible unless my ear is right next to the case

CaseLabs case, big build over the next few months.

Will be doing a project log when the case arrives.
