I'm looking for a few choices on mmos

what are your Top Free to Play MMOs for 2014 choices ??

I've played 3 mmos so far but ive not liked any, some have better graphics others had better game play but over all they all have the same overall game.

I dont want to spend any money on GW2 or ESO if Ive not liked any MMOs so far..

Ill liked them years ago but im assuming them games will be very much dated now.

please let me know you choices
 
was going to suggest GW2 at a mere 22 pound for a good quality game, well worth it IMO.

all the truly free to play games to me just don't seem to cut the mustard
 
Can't REALLY judge an mmo in 2 days though can you, the games barely start till endgame. Rift probably the best though. Try defiance? EVE maybe.
 
Rift indeed there's a few of us on here playing it (just started last month) with a ocuk guild
 
is GW2 Better then both ?
Is GW2 as active and upto date on graphics ?

Tera has better graphics
Rift has better game play
 
if you didn't like those, which ones did you like back in the day?
or what are you looking for in an mmorpg? apart from being F2P.
 
Star Trek Online without a shadow of a doubt.

A good fun 'arcade' like MMO with a good F2P model (you can reach the lvl cap without paying a single penny and hardly any limitations!)
 
TERA and RIFT are pretty good for free

I have been thinking of re-installing one of them recently for something to play.

I bought guildwars2 after playing the original guildwars for years with the expansions and I couldn't get into it.
They seemed to remove a lot of things that were good in the original like multiclass builds (eg: w/mo) and also made weapons effect your characters abilities (limiting builds even further), they also did away with auto-attack so you can stand with a dagger, swinging it in the air while a projectile hits your enemy at range ?!
There's also the way the targeting system seems to work better with a mod which puts up a crosshair (similar to TERA)
After playing for a while you will also fill up your bank slots and have to pay for new tabs (£6.40 per tab of 30slots) or sell/remove items.
I might be hoarding items I guess but I can't really see how you could play the game with 5 characters and not fill the bank.

Most games are down to personal preference I guess but personally I think guildwars2 was a waste of money.
 
Rift - Totally free, no restrictions apart from extra souls for the four classes. 9/10

SWToR - Best story based F2P MMo. There are restrictions if your not a subscriber but they don't stop your adventure from start to cap. 6/10

Aion - Older MMo but totally free and no noticeable restrictions. Has the best PvP combat of them all. 8/10

Tera - An MMo you have to aim to hit things. No restrictions and great fun 7/10
 
Do we have an active TERA thread here? Forum search didn't seem to throw one up but perhaps my search-fu is weak.

Would like to read a review/opinion piece about it written in the last few months is such a thing exists.

GW2 was released after Rift, I find the graphics leagues ahead

I played RIFT for a long time, I find GW2 much more enjoyable and its not a game that became free to play, it always has been always will be. there isn't anything you cant do if you don't pay

IMO if you get rift and don't buy the all the souls, you miss what was great about rift
