Well I've only had the XF 18 months, but in January I found out my girlfriend was pregnant. So it's been eating away at me since then what to do with my car. I can afford the monthly payments, but it's everything else that makes it a little selfish of me to keep it. It needs 4 new tyres (£7-800) in a couple of months, warranty (£900) in February and a service not long after that which is a major one. With all that in mind I just decided I'll get a car that is cheaper to run for a couple of years then sneak in something less sensible again :)...

I wanted something that was quite well specced, practical and roomy enough for the baby and drives well, maybe something not any less powerful or not far off.

And here's what I ended up with:

Massively missing the mark power wise :p It's a Ford Focus (62 Plate) 1.0L Ecoboost Titanium. Quite a drop in power from a 3 litre XF, but I must admit it drives fantastically and is a really nice little car. The spec is really good too so I'm not left wanting for gadgets, and it's saving me a nice amount a month too. £500 refund in insurance was a very nice start.

Will put up a full review once I've had it a week :)

So it is even bigger and probably heavier than a Fiesta, with the same 1.0 Engine.

Facepalm x2.

In case you cannot read, he is having a child so will need the bigger of the two cars even if it was slower. It's obvious he isn't after performance as he could have bought one with a more powerful engine.

FACEPALM @ U LOL

It's just the replacement for the NA 1.6 engine with the same power.

Is it the 100ps or 125ps engine?

For any of you thinking speed was an important factor, then face palm at you :p

I bought this car to save money all round. From running costs to monthly payments. I was going to get a 1.6 but after driving the 1.0 Ecoboost, it was a no brainer. It's a fantastic engine that drives just as well as the 1.6

It's the 125 :)

Seems fair enough, we had a 1.8 Focus when baby on the way. Crap on fuel and pretty dull engine note, this engine is better in both regards aswell as more power.
