I was doing a bios update earlier and my computer froze and went off. I can't seem to get it working since :(

I tried to reset the cmos but to no avail. Any help would be appreciated guys. If I can't fix it then it will give me a good excuse to upgrade to Devil's Canyon ;)

doesn't it have a dual bios? some msi boards do

theres a way to get it to recover cant remember though but google is your friend

Page 40 of the English manual mentions dual BIOS.

Dual BIOS LED (P67A-GD65)
The Dual BIOS LED indicates the BIOS status during system power on. Follow the
instructions below to read.
Off: Normal.
Blink (1 cycle/second): The primary BIOS is failed.
Fast Blink (10 cycles/second): The second BIOS is failed.
Solid: Both of primary and second BIOS are failed.

As you have found out, MSI's bios update software is crap and the only way they recommend to update the bios is to sign up to their forums so that you can download their forum bios flash tool. Pretty terrible that MSI haven't sorted this after many years. Their forums are full of tales of bios flashes gone wrong.

I had a P5Q-E that had a dual BIOS and the main one was buggered and wouldn't flash so I got a BIOS chip removal tool and swapped it for the backup one, problem solved

Is it still under warranty? If it is send it back if not try and fix it, if you can't fix it and have no warranty either sell your i7 and upgrade or get another motherboard.

Unfortunately the board was out of warranty so I Bought a new Asus P8Z77-V LX.

Will be fitting it next week when I'm off work. :)

Remember when I was getting a board for mine and it was between the Asus P8Z77-V LX or my GA-Z77-D3H. Going to have a go and see if you can fix your old board though? No harm in trying right :D
