Yesterday I painted a pair of exhaust manifolds in silver VHT paint however it requires heat to cure properly and I have a few concerns about flammable vapours and getting told off by the GF for stinking the house out if I were to stick them in the oven for a while.

Has anyone ever done this themselves, how long should I leave them before doing it and how bad is the smell?

It'll absolutely stink even with the extractor on and all wondwos/doors open - takes best part of a day to clear but aside from that you should be fine !

Oh dear. They are in now, gradually increasing temperature, 170c and no stink just yet.

It did start to smell a bit after 40 mins or so, not that bad though considering I am currently cooking actual food in it :)
