Help me understand this ebay listing before I order please

Am after this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/291090472920?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

Now it's both parts I am after, the socket (bit with all the pins on the back and black cap on the left) and then plug with the knurled edged and cable clamp towards the back. Ie 2 parts plug and socket.

Now the listing title, detail and image are confusing me. The seller has not replied.

What does the OCUK forum make of it?

I need a plug and socket with 18 pins/conections. 19/20 are fine but it's a must have min of 18

I don't understand what you are asking.
The advert is for one side of a connection, looks like the female side, I think from what you said, you need to buy a male part too.
 
It's a Y28-19 Waterproof 19 Pin Aviation Connector Adapter Plug 400V 12A.

I'm not sure what you are confused about? It's just a plug, surely?

Exactly. Looking at the larger picture more closely, the plug might actually be a male connection, and the part not listed is probably female, but nothing changes that this is only 1 part of the connection :p

I can't help but feel there will be a more suitable 18pin connection available out there.

One side has solder connections, that goes inside the box through a round hole.
There is an attached rubber cover which when disconnected, protects this fixing.


The second part screws onto this, that's the longer bit in the picture.
You can tell it comes apart because it has a knurled pattern to aid unscrewing.

It would have been helpful for the seller to show this two part assembly in its unattached state, but anyway.

I take it all back, looks like I was totally wrong I can totally see your reason for confusion now!
That seller is a muppet, looking at it now, its clear the description/pictures are terrible!

Don't I feel stupid now!

So I'm not being thick dumb and stupid this time then.

I was hoping it was both parts

1 the bulkhead fitting with cover and then plug.

Not really surprising since he's based in Hong Kong. They also probably deal with thousands of sales a week so one confused buyer is hardly likely to trouble them.

Personally I'd be looking for a reputable UK supplier, rather than taking pot luck on something from the far east that probably have no QC but maybe thats just me.

True but they state to mail them. UK supply is low and limited. Also costly about £50 each end

Found one that a decent enough price but has more pins
