Robin Williams found dead at home

Suicide is selfish and shouldn't be sympathised with. I don't take that view with a high horse or ignorant to the deep crap he would have been feeling/going through.

Mental illnesses are on the increase now, especially with such vast changes I can't imagine the next generations problems getting any better.

I find it hard to play his movies to kids because of his end.

Seriously? Shouldn't be sympathised with? what should you do then?

And how many times have you tried to play his movies to kids since Tuesday??

So if it's not high horsedness or ignorance, where does this absurd viewpoint come from?

Wow.

So expect a lot more people to commit suicide unless something is done to address the fact that depression, anxiety, mania and schizophrenia are widely misunderstood and stigmatised by people like you.

If you start sympathising with someone who kills him/herself then more will follow suit. If you start sympathising with the problems he had and look at ways to combat such issues, it makes suicide look like a less appealing option.

So if it's not high horsedness or ignorance, where does this absurd viewpoint come from?

Suicide should not be viewed as an option by anybody. If someones at their last tether there is only hope that there is something or someone to stop them actually doing it.

Not at all, I've felt and dealt with such issues, suicide should be viewed as failure in the fight against mental illness to encourage striving to get better no matter how down in the dumps you are.

Sympathising with someone that has reached that point where suicide has happened is all that you can do. I can't say that more will follow suit, because it really doesn't work like that.

Suicide happens for a multitude of reasons, if people want to carry it out, they will do, it'll never be eradicated.

It's not selfish and you are ignorant to believe it is. (I'd edit to say that those facing life for murder etc that kill themselves in prison are probably about the only exception to the rule...)

I think people need to realise that MH issues are like any other illness. You can want to get better all you want but often that's not enough.

That sums up your understanding of the issues right there really.

lots of super logical thoughts there.
too bad clinical depression messes with your reasoning process and severe depression can lead to suicide

WTF?

You have no idea the impact depression has on the brain, none. Frankly its embarrassing to even read what you wrote.

Whoa. I just looked out my window and I can swear I just saw you crest the moon.

You're an absolute space cadet.
