This morning I suffered a puncture in a Ford Fiesta (2012). Pulled over, used the inflater in the boot which consisted of compressor and a small canister. Safely got to a garage and had the tyre replaced.

It doesn't say on the canister but is it a use once system? Will I need to source a replacement canister?

The contents of the canister (or at least a fair percentage thereof) was put inside your tyre, thus I'd say its pretty likely it'll need refilling. :)

Google the manufacturer and see what the website says about it.

Normally the manufacturer inflation kit goo is single use and renders the tyre unrepairable. A replacement goo can might be about £50 or so. The compressor can be reused.

A can of Holts Tyre Weld will do the same job but they only cost about a tenner. A few tyre chains also say they will attempt a repair (depending on puncture size and location) after Holts has been used.

National state on their website that they will attemp repairs after Holts has been used and I've had ATS do it after using a similar product.

You're supposed to use the whole can of sealer, so of course you need to replace it. Even if you only used a bit by mistake, I (ironically) would not trust it to have pressure next time ( as with a fire extinguisher ).
